Darren Sugiyama

Partner

Darren specializes in point-of-sale execution within our advisor-partner channel, and carrier/IMO/BGA/advisor relations for Lionsmark.

Prior to Lionsmark, Darren founded DaVinci Financial, a multi-office life insurance firm responsible for over 25% of Pacific Life’s policy count in Orange County, California, and 39% of Penn Mutual's life insurance policy sales in the county.

Prior to DaVinci, Darren founded Apex Outsourcing Insurance Services which became the #1 brokerage firm in the country with Kaiser Permanente, #1 in the country with Health Net, ##2 in the state of California with Aetna, and #1 in Orange County, California with Blue Shield, concurrently.

Prior to Apex, Darren specialized in working with at-risk youths as the Director of a gang-prevention program in Long Beach, California and as a counselor in Halawa Prison in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Darren is the acclaimed author of How I Built A $37 Million Insurance Agency In Less Than 7 Years, along with six additional published books distributed internationally, and is a nationally acclaimed motivational speaker.

 

He holds a B.A. in Sociology from Loyola Marymount University, and a M.Ed. in Multicultural Education from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

Darren is married and currently lives with his wife and son in Orange County, California.

Jeff Faine

Partner

Jeff specializes in lending platform development, banking relations, and strategic policy design work for Lionsmark.

 

Prior to Lionsmark, Jeff specialized in premium financing and was recognized by Pacific Life as an industry Top 40 Under 40, and is greatly respected in the life insurance industry as a Premium Financing expert.  Jeff was first introduced to the concept of premium financing as a client during his football career, and upon retiring from the NFL, he began a career in premium financing.

He began his 10-year NFL career as a first-round draft pick - 21st overall - as a center for the Cleveland Browns in 2003.  He went on to play for the New Orleans Saints, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Cincinnati Bengals. Jeff was the first center to ever be drafted in the first-round by an NFL team and at one point was the highest paid center in the entire NFL.

In addition to his successful business ventures, Jeff also founded The Faine House, a charitable foundation that houses youths who have aged out of the foster care system, helping them prepare for the real world by teaching them invaluable life skills.

He holds a B.A. in Business Administration from Notre Dame University.

Jeff is married and currently lives with his wife and two sons in Orlando, Florida.

Pete Georgialis

Partner

Pete specializes in business development, brand awareness, and strategic alliances for Lionsmark.

 

Prior to Lionsmark, Pete has been an active investor and contributor to the success of multiple web-based technology and business services companies, including Insurance Noodle, Inc. (sold to Willis Holdings in 2007), Knowledge Advisors, Inc, (sold to Conference Executive Board in 2014), CrossCheck Compliance, and dScout. He also has led the turnaround of Kalamazoo Outdoor Gourmet, Corporate Synergies Group and Promisec.

In 2000, Pete founded Synetro - a non-traditional private investment and strategic advisory group.  Prior to founding Synetro Group, Pete was the Chief Operating Officer of Lante Corporation where he led the strategic repositioning and operating transformation of the company from an established systems integrator into a high-growth internet consulting leader. He also prepared the company for a successful IPO. 

He holds a B.Sc. in Electronic Engineering from the University of Sussex (UK), an M.Sc. in Computer Science from London’s Imperial College, and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. Pete serves on the boards of CrossCheck Compliance LLC, dScout, Inc., and Kalamazoo Outdoor Gourmet LLC. Pete is actively involved in the Chicago business community, and a committed supporter of a number of education and social service delivery organizations.

 

Pete is married with three children and splits time between Chicago, Illinois and Park City, Utah.

Simo Kamppari

Partner

Simo specializes in fintech for Lionsmark Capital and is instrumental in building algorithms to model our premium financing platforms in our proprietary software.

Prior to joining Lionsmark Capital, Simo Kamppari became a partner at Synetro Group and focused on shaping the strategy and driving the operating performance of Synetro portfolio companies.  He has a 20 year track record of leading organizational change from bottom-up and top-down, and is actively engaged with a number of our portfolio companies at the board level, and in active operational roles ranging from finance, to strategy, to CEO.

Simo joined Synetro in 2010 from McKinsey and Company where he was a consultant for five years, working with technology, financial services and education clients on board level issues related to strategy, operational performance improvement, and organizational design.

 

Prior to joining McKinsey, Simo was a Group Manager at Oracle Corporation. In this role he led the development of applications software for sales analysis and budgeting, and drove numerous enhancements to the software development approach utilized by the organization.

He holds a B. Sc. and M. Eng. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.

 

Simo is married and currently lives with his wife and two children near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
